Vincent Moon - special screening session and talks at RIFF tonight!

French filmmaker Vincent Moon, collaborator of music acts like R.E.M., Sufjan Stevens, Animal Collective, Tom Jones, Arcade Fire, Sigur Rós, Beirut, Grizzly Bear og Bon Iver, will present a special screening session for guests of RIFF this evening at legendary bar Kaffi Rósenberg at 20:30. He will also discuss his methods with the audience: how he approaches his subjects, the musicians.

Moon has deconstructed the music film and created a new genre with his Take Away Shows on www.blogotheque.net. The shows continue to impress music fans, who via the internet can experience their biggest idols, as well as less known local artists all over the world, play live versions in the streets, in narrow staircases, in shafts and on the toilet! Moon accompanies the musicians with his handheld camera, whose mobility allows him access to even the most intimate spaces.

Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) was founded in 2004 by a group of film enthusiasts and professionals with the goal of creating an annual international film festival in Reykjavik.

The aim is to establish a major film event to enrich and enliven the local film culture, but moreover, to become an international attraction.

We believe that by building up an innovative film festival in Reykjavik, our foreign guests will have a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting cultural event, as well as visiting a country renowned for its natural wonders and dynamic culture.
