Submissions galore for RIFF 2011

The vibe is vibrant these days at the programming department of RIFF because the staff is flooded with exciting submissions from all over the cinematic world! With more than 300 titles in already, a massive task lies ahead of picking and choosing. However, the deadline for submission is July 15th so we encourage filmmakers everywhere to visit our page HERE, sign up and submit a screener!

As always, RIFF focuses on progressive, quality filmmaking where young and independent filmmakers get an ample share of the spotlight, what with the festival's competition category, New Visions, which is limited to first and second works only. Thus, at RIFF 2011 you will encounter some of the finest and freshest filmmaking of this year, be it dramas or docs, full length features or shorts, children films and animations, old-school or avant-garde.

This year's edition of RIFF is from September 22nd to October 2nd. We'll see you there.

Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) was founded in 2004 by a group of film enthusiasts and professionals with the goal of creating an annual international film festival in Reykjavik.

The aim is to establish a major film event to enrich and enliven the local film culture, but moreover, to become an international attraction.

We believe that by building up an innovative film festival in Reykjavik, our foreign guests will have a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting cultural event, as well as visiting a country renowned for its natural wonders and dynamic culture.
