Reykjavík is known for its lively music scene and at RIFF we want to reflect that. A special music selection is therefore presented each year in the category Sound on Sight, and 2011 is no different. Eight films, relating somehow to music, have been confirmed for this year’s festival.
The music films at the 2011 edition of RIFF are
The Miners' Hymns by Bill Morrison with music by Jóhann Jóhannsson,
Let England Shake by Seamus Murphy with music from PJ Harvey,’s new album;
Scenes from the Suburbs by Spike Jonze with music from Arcade Fire’s new album,
Sing Your Song by Susanne Rostock on Harry Belafonte,
LENNONYC by Michael Epstein on John Lennon’s New York years,
In the Garden of Sounds by Nicola Bellucci on blind musician Wolfgang Fasser;
Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest by Michael Rapaport on one of the most influential hip-hop bands of our time, and
