More stars at RIFF

Knowledgy - a black-comedy short film about cults, gullibility and the search for happiness, will premiere at RIFF this fall. This Icelandic film stars Leo Fitzpatrick from Kids and The Wire.

When a naive Iceland couple becomes entangled in an American cult, their lodger, Michael, decides to document events for his film school project. The cult leading couple arrive from L.A. to initiate the naive Icelanders and soon the comical becomes macabre.

Knowledgy is the final project of Hrefna Hagalín and Kristín Bára Haraldsdóttir at the Icelandic Film Academy. The film won two prizes at the graduation of the Academy, Best Movie in Directing/Producing Department and Best Movie of The Year. Mentor on the project was Dagur Kári Pétursson (Noi albinói, Voksne Mennesker, The Good Heart).

Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) was founded in 2004 by a group of film enthusiasts and professionals with the goal of creating an annual international film festival in Reykjavik.

The aim is to establish a major film event to enrich and enliven the local film culture, but moreover, to become an international attraction.

We believe that by building up an innovative film festival in Reykjavik, our foreign guests will have a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting cultural event, as well as visiting a country renowned for its natural wonders and dynamic culture.
