Since 2009, one of RIFF's documentary categories has been Food on Film, presenting feature length works about the wonder that is food. The films confirmed for this years edition are Divine Pig by Hans Dortmans, Pig Country by Andreas Koefoed and El Bulli: Cooking in Progress by Gereon Wetzel.

In conjunction with the category, RIFF usually offers a special event in celebration of one chosen film where the film is shown and then audience can witness the skills of master chefs preparing food inspired from the film. This year the focus is on the German El Bulli: Cooking in Progress. The film tells the tale of three-star chef Ferran Adrià, who is widely considered the best, most innovative and craziest chef in the world. In his kitchen, that which was once familiar disintegrates. Each year his restaurant El Bulli closes for half a year – time for Adrià and his team to retire to his Barcelona cooking laboratory to create the new menu for the coming season. Anything goes – except copying oneself.

The film will be screened in the Nordic House, followed by tasty treats from the skilled chefs at DILL Restaurant.
