Cinema in the Center of the Earth

Reykjavík International Film Festival has from its inception sought to present film screenings in exotic and unusal settings. But with "Cinema in the Center of the Earth", RIFF has taken the idea to a whole new direction - and that direction is "down".

On Thursday September 29th RIFF organizes a unique cinematic experience, to put it mildly, in collaboration with Jameson. The participants - the filmgoers, that is - will be taken by bus beyond the city limits to enjoy Cinema in the Center of the Earth. More will not be disclosed for now. The rest will come as a surprise.

Only two screenings will be held, at 16:00 and 20:30, and "seating" is very limited, only 30 for each trip. The trips start at the Reykjavik City Hall building, a stone's throw from the RIFF headquarters, where participants will be welcomed aboard the bus that will spirit them away to the secret destination. Once there, refreshments will be offered and then - movie time.

Needless to say, those who crave unusal and unforgettable movie moments should not let this opportunity slip away. Get your tickets at the RIFF-website - sales start Friday September 2nd.

Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) was founded in 2004 by a group of film enthusiasts and professionals with the goal of creating an annual international film festival in Reykjavik.

The aim is to establish a major film event to enrich and enliven the local film culture, but moreover, to become an international attraction.

We believe that by building up an innovative film festival in Reykjavik, our foreign guests will have a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting cultural event, as well as visiting a country renowned for its natural wonders and dynamic culture.
