A bigshot at RIFF

The Reykjavik International Film Festival is proud to announce that Cameron Bailey, director of the Toronto International Film Festival, will take place in RIFF’s festival jury for 2010. The jury is responsible for deciding which film receives the Golden puffin, RIFF’s main award.

This is a very big step for the 2010 edition of RIFF, as TIFF has become one of the most important film festivals in the world with more than 250.000 guests every year, and dedicated to presenting the best of international and Canadian cinema to film lovers.

Last year, the Icelandic director Dagur Kári debuted his film, The Good Heart, in Toronto so this is not the first time Icelanders work with TIFF, and hopefully not the last.

Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) was founded in 2004 by a group of film enthusiasts and professionals with the goal of creating an annual international film festival in Reykjavik.

The aim is to establish a major film event to enrich and enliven the local film culture, but moreover, to become an international attraction.

We believe that by building up an innovative film festival in Reykjavik, our foreign guests will have a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting cultural event, as well as visiting a country renowned for its natural wonders and dynamic culture.
